First attempt

This is what we have done so far in our pixilation exercise for stop motion. As you can see we have used people. During the stages of pixilation i found it really easy even though it took quite a long time to complete.

This is our final piece for our pixilation exercise. During our lesson me, keira and Gemma did various different things to make a small stop motion animation.

Cut-Out animation Exercise

Cut- Out Exercise Animation lesson
For my cut out animation I had to create for my stop motion lesson. Me and my team mates had cut out individual images from sources like magazines and newspaper's which thought we might of needed or not and with the ones we needed we moved them slowly at a time, creating a moving image animation.
This was mine, Kierens and Gemma's finally completion of our stop motion animation using cut-out images.

Clay Exercise

Clay Animation Exercise

The clay model I made in my first Stop-Motion animation taster lesson.

For my first stop-motion lesson I was asked to create a animation using clay models, so that is what I had done. Creating the dumb dumb statue from the 'Night of the museum' movie, when finally creating my animation I had him moving around and his noise falling off and then finally going back on.

This is my clay animation I finished in the same lesson.

Early animation devices

Early animation devices - Stop Motion Animation

ZoeTrope -
A zoetrope is known as one the first moving image animation made. Being a film-animation device that produces a sequence of small drawings or photographs the zoetrope is made to give the illusion that the drawings are moving when really they are not.

Thaumatrope -
Popular in the early 19th century the Thaumatrope was and still is designed to give the illusion that the bird is really in the metal cage.
With the Thaumatrope the aim is too hold onto the strings on either side and move it forward and backwards until it looks like the bird is in the cage.

Phenakistoscope -
The Phenakistoscope was designed by the use of motion principles to create one illusion which is motion.

Using the phenakistoscope you start off by using two disks which is normally mounted on the same axis. With the first disc having slots around the edges and the seconds containing pictures or drawings, when viewed in a mirror, looking through the first disc the pictures will eventually look like its moving.

Kinetoscope -
Designed mainly for films. The Kinetoscope was a very early motion picture animation device. Also the Kinetoscope is only a one person view box where they would look through a small whole.

Mutoscope -
Also an early motion picture device the Mutoscope is very much similar then the Kinetoscope.

Stop Motion Animation

Stop Motion Animation

Three different types of Stop Motion Animations -

Clay Motion -
Clay Motion is where you make your own characters out of what they call modelling clay and then moving the characters a tiny bit at a time and capture them one by one which will eventually look like the characters moving etc. For example Wallace and Grommet and Shawn the Sheep.

Cutout Motion (Paper Motion) -
Cutout Motion Animation is mainly used from bits cut out from magazines and newspapers. It is much easier then Clay Motion as it doesn't take as long and the basics of what you have to do is just move the pieces you have cut out and capture every time you move the pieces - to make it look like its moving.
